Kayla’s 11:00 cancelled. Here’s how it got filled.
-
A customer cancels
Teddy’s owner texts at 7 AM: she’s been called into work, so his 11:00 bath and tidy with Kayla is off. That leaves 75 minutes between Otis and lunch.

A Patcher Connect customer, not the sample shop above
Tennessee Pet Services (mobile grooming, 8 vans) fills cancellations in the scheduler it already uses. In a single 30-day window: 19 appointments recovered, 48 hours of route time recovered, $1,865 in scheduled revenue protected.
How does Patcher work for mobile groomers?
A mobile grooming day is a route. Here’s how it runs in Patcher, from the first call to the next groom.
- 01
Set your grooms to “we visit customers”
Add each service with its length and a buffer for setup and clean-out in the van. Customers can have more than one address, like a lake house you groom at in summer.
- 02
Book the stop that fits the route
When an owner calls, pick the service and Patcher suggests times that account for the groom, the drive from your last stop and your hours. No guessing whether 15 minutes gets you across town.
- 03
Book the next groom before you pull away
Most dogs come back every 4 to 8 weeks. Book the next visit while you’re still in the driveway, on a day you’re already working that part of town.
Does Patcher do what mobile groomers need?
Every plan includes every feature.
- Can owners book a mobile groom online? Yes
- Owners pick a service and an open time. Baths book instantly; first full grooms come in as requests. How online booking works
- Does it send automatic appointment reminders? Yes
- Reminder texts go out before each appointment, plus confirmations for online bookings.
- Can I rebook every 4, 6 or 8 weeks? Yes
- Book a repeating appointment at the rhythm each dog’s coat needs.
- Can I keep notes on each dog and its driveway? In notes
- Breed, coat, gate and hookup notes go in the customer notes, and visit notes on each appointment.
- Can I see both groomers’ routes side by side? Yes
- One calendar with a column for each person, their openings and blocked time like lunch.
- Will it stop me booking two stops at once? Yes
- Every time is checked against the day before it saves. If you mean to overlap, Patcher asks first. How booking works
- Can a cancelled stop be filled? Yes
- Customers booked later are lined up for the opening. You approve, and they’re texted one at a time. How cancellation filling works
- Does it leave time to drive between driveways? Yes
- With “we visit customers” on, suggested times leave room for the drive from your last stop. How travel-aware scheduling works
- Can I check the next stop from my phone? Yes
- Patcher works in your phone’s browser, with a day view made for a small screen.
- Can I switch from a paper book or a phone full of texts? Yes
- Free help organizing your customers, addresses and upcoming grooms. Your subscription is priced separately. How switching works

Questions mobile groomers ask about Patcher
Will it leave enough time to drive between stops?
Yes. With “we visit customers” on, suggested times account for the groom’s length, the drive from your previous stop and your hours, so a crosstown drive doesn’t eat into the next dog’s time. You can still pick any time yourself, and Patcher checks it against the rest of the day before it saves.
How much is it for a solo groomer, or two groomers on the road?
Patcher is $29 a month for 1–2 people, so a solo mobile groomer, or two groomers each driving a route, sit on the smallest plan. You pay by how many people take appointments, not by stops, and every plan includes every feature. You can try it free for 14 days.
Where do I keep gate codes and hookup notes?
In the customer notes. Write the gate code, where to park, which outlet and water spigot to use, and anything about the dog, and it’s there whenever that customer is booked. Add notes on each appointment for this visit, like a shorter clip or a matted spot to watch next time.
Can I book the next groom before I pull out of the driveway?
Yes. Book the next visit from your phone while you’re still parked, or set a repeating appointment every 4, 6 or 8 weeks so the dog stays on your route. Suggested times leave room for the drive, so pick a day you’re already working that part of town. Reminder texts go out before each groom.
If a dog cancels the morning of, who gets offered the stop?
Customers already booked later whose groom fits it: the same length or shorter, with the groomer free then and time for the drive before and after. You choose who gets asked and in what order. Everyone keeps their current groom until someone accepts, and an owner who says no simply keeps theirs while the next person you approved is asked.
